Migrating from Hanaf to Oncord

Hanaf has announced plans to reach end of life in 2028. As they do not have a specific date that their services will end published publicly online, we recommend checking directly with Hanaf for the latest information and planning your migration ahead of time.

While some alternatives focus primarily on managing courses, memberships and other centre administration, Oncord offers an all-in-one solution that combines dedicated modules for Alliance Française and Institut Français centres with the complete Oncord website and marketing platform.

Yes, our team can assist with importing relevant data from Hanaf during the onboarding/migration project.

Hanaf provides an SQL file containing your data, you then pass that SQL file onto our team un-opened and unedited. From there our team imports your data into your new Oncord account using a customised script.

The Hanaf data is imported towards the end of the migration and onboarding project.

We recommend that the Hanaf data is supplied approx. 3 weeks before the aimed go live date. To give our team time to work on the import and for your team to review and make any adjustments to the configuration and settings if desired before going live.

Between your data being exported from Hanaf and the new website with Oncord going live, you will need to keep track of any new members, enrolments etc. and our team will guide and assist you with adding those into your new Oncord account manually after the Hanaf data has been imported. This can also be a good way of becoming familiar with how to add things manually into the system when the need arises.

Yes, you can continue to use Hanaf during the migration and onboarding project.
Once your data is imported and the new website is live with Oncord, you would stop using Hanaf.

Yes, a website is the base of all Oncord accounts and the AF/IF modules cannot be used within Oncord without the full Oncord solution (website, contacts, marketing and commerce).

As part of onboarding, we can help migrate your website and content, using our AF/IF website theme, rebuilding a closest match to your existing site or developing a new custom design.

If you'd like to update your content, remove old pages or add new ones, we can discuss and help with these changes as part of your migration planning and onboarding project.

Updating content yourself after the initial website build is complete can also be a great way to familiarise yourself with the platform.

DIY options are available for teams that are comfortable setting up the new website themselves.

The AF/IF design themes have been created as a solid base website for your centre with features that all centres typically need.

Migration timeframes vary depending on your centre's size and requirements, the options you choose during onboarding (in particular DIYing your website content) and your team's availability to attend the Zoom training sessions and complete any to dos between sessions.

The average onboarding timeframe is between 4-12 weeks.

Our team are happy to provide faster onboarding when needed. Our fastest onboarding so far was within 1 week with many smaller centres completing onboarding within 4-5 weeks.

We'll discuss your requirements during the migration planning process to help your centre plan ahead and prepare for a smooth transition.

Yes. Our onboarding includes tailored training sessions conducted via Zoom to help your team become familiar with the Oncord platform and features relevant to your centre.

Additional questions, guidance and support outside of the Zoom training sessions are handled via email, both during and after onboarding.

Your centre can choose between 1–5 training sessions as part of onboarding. We normally recommend 5 sessions to help your team get the most out of the training.

If your director or another team member has previous experience using Oncord at another centre, you also have the option to train your team internally instead.

Initial onboarding and migration services are quoted on a project basis, and based on your centre's requirements and the current system/s you're using in addition to Hanaf.
